Positions
Our primary position within the agency is the Direct Support Professional. The Direct Support Professional works towards empowering individuals by providing support, education, and self-advocacy in their respective homes and communities.  Some of the general job duties and activities are as follows;

  • Assisting individuals in all aspects of daily living.
  • Assisting individuals in community integration and activity participation.
  • Implementation of Lifestyle and Behavioral Plans of Care.
  • Following nursing directives.
  • Daily documentation on the progress and status of the supported individuals.

Necessary Qualifications for Direct Support Professionals

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Acceptable Criminal Background Check
  • Acceptable Driving Record

Program / Shift Description
We provide supports throughout Rhode Island in the following communities;

  • Coventry
  • Cranston
  • East Providence
  • Barrington
  • Bristol
  • Warren
  • Tiverton
  • Middletown

We offer first, second and third shift as well as fulltime, part-time and sub/relief positions.

Benefits

Health:
We offer full time employees health insurance coverage.

Dental:
We offer full time employees dental insurance coverage.

Flexible Spending:
We offer full time employees the ability to participate in a Flexible Spending Plan which allows them to put a portion of their “pre-tax” monthly income into an account to pay for eligible health and dependent care expenses.

Pension Plan:
We offer to eligible employees the ability to participate in retirement planning.  This is accomplished through the 403B option, which allows employees to select pretax funds and direct them into various investment vehicles. The 403B arrangement may involve (as funding allows) a matching employer contribution. 

Tax Sheltered Annuity:
We offer to all employees the opportunity to participate in a tax sheltered annuity (TSA) retirement program, which allows them to defer income on a pretax basis until distributions are taken. Employees can obtain their total account balance at any time and will only pay taxes in the calendar year that funds are withdrawn.

Earned Time Off:
Earned Time Off is leave that allows eligible employees to take time off from work on a paid basis such as vacations, etc.

Extended Medical Leave:
Extended Medical Leave is granted to eligible employees and designed to provide salary income protection for staff, in the event of illness, accident or other causes requiring medical attention.

Holiday Pay:
Employees who work on specified holidays will be granted premium pay for all hours worked that day.

Savings Club:
We offer employees the ability to participate in an in-house annual Savings Club Plan that offers compounding interest on all deposits.

Workers Compensation:
We partner with our insurance carrier to provide a healthy and injury free work environment for employee’s safety.

COBRA:
We provide current and former employees the ability to continue health and dental coverage after they have either discontinued employment or decreased hours by allowing them to pay monthly insurance premiums at group rates.

Wellness Initiatives:
We sponsor an array of wellness programs to assist employees in creating a healthy lifestyle through good choice-making and proactive daily life planning.

Training

We realize that in order to fulfill our mission of providing outstanding supports for individuals with disabilities, all agency personnel must understand what is expected of them and the steps they need to take in order to accomplish our goals.  We provide the following trainings to assist employees in understanding our focus, operational standards and achieve excellence, both personal and professional.
